Notary Public and Commissioning Services
We are happy to provide notary public and commissioning services by appointment.
Services offered include certification of documents as true copies, affirming or swearing affidavits and statutory declarations, witnessing a person's signature, and travel consent authorizations (executed by a non-travelling parent to confirm his or her agreement to the planned travel; failure to execute such authorizations may result in your child being unable to travel).
Notarizing Services
Certifying or notarizing a document means to verify it to be a true copy of the original document, allowing for the notarized copy to be submitted instead of the original. It does not certify the veracity of the primary document, only that it is a true representation of the original document. It is often advisable to obtain and submit a notarized copy of important documentation, rather than risk losing or damaging the original document.

Commissioning Services
An affidavit is a document containing statements that are verified by the swearing of an oath or affirmation and must be authorized by legislation permitting or requiring the proof of these facts by way of an affidavit. Affidavits attest to a particular fact or set of facts and are commonly used to establish legal rights. A person seeking to establish a legal right may therefore encounter difficulties if an affidavit is not completed properly. Similarly, a statutory declaration contains statements that are verified by the solemn declaration of the person making the statements, and are used when there is no legislative authority for an affidavit.
